So I started working on this new flavor tonight, and there was so much about the flavor that I wanted to talk about that I decided it would be easier to get on the blog and write about it instead of Facebook. I realized that I hadn't posted in a FULL year and 5 days!
Upon a recent vacation (I took a vaca... shocking I know!) to New Braunsfels, Texas we stopped in on this little bakery called 2Tarts. We found it on Yelp.com and loved it because they were open till midnight! There was 7 of us in our party, and I being the resident baker - I went first. I picked out a lemon and blackberry cupcakes, a key lime and strawberry cupcake while my husband chose a white chocolate pumpkin bread pudding and this cookie that I was unaware that it was in our box. When we got into the car we started checking out our sweets and I pulled out one of these amazing cookies. They called them Oatmeal Scotchies. A traditional oatmeal cookie, nix the raisins... add BUTTERSCOTCH CHIPS! Wow, I thought... this would make a wonderful cake ball! (My lovely husband says I can even turn vacation into a business trip.)
Well tonight, I did it! I turned the cookie into a cake ball... wowza, its amazing. For those who like 7 layer bar, yall will love these Scotties! Spice cake blended with toasted oatmeal, cinnamon, brown sugar and chunks of butterscotch chips! Yeah, can't really go wrong there. I envision it dipped in white chocolate, but I can only imagine that it would be pretty fan-tab-ulous in milk chocolate as well!
